How to write a blog post… I don’t know. I suppose I’ll just make it up.

Welcome to my blog, and to the inaugural blog post!

(ooh wow fancy word +10 points)

I’m not quite sure what I will end up doing with this yet. A couple of months ago I was doing my thing and then thought “I want to start a blog”, with no real rhyme or reason as to why I wanted to do so. There are things I can probably talk about, which is the stuff I have put in the description on the homepage – projects I am working on, ideas I have, things I learn, thoughts and discussions about the manga and/or anime I am interested in (yep, I’m a manga/anime buff), etc.

Though, having had couple of months to ponder since the conception of this idea, I think I want to take this blog in a specific direction, at least to start off with.

I have come up with a list of projects I want to work on – cause I have to do something with my time – and I think this blog would be a great place to go through and discuss these projects as I do them. These projects could be smaller things – like learning to homebrew a Nintendo DS, for example – or it could be a larger project that takes months to work on, and probably multiple posts – like a room renovation (I have that idea in the works, not telling too much about it right now).

Having these things to work on will keep me busy and having goals to work towards, which is important to keep me from going crazy. But as well, posting my progress and achievements here on this blog will hopefully help me avoid feeling like I’m doing this where no-one can see. In the past, I have had trouble sticking to long-term projects if I don’t feel like I’m getting anything out of it, and it can be incredibly easy to drop the project silently if no-one is looking. By posting stuff here, hopefully someone will be looking, and I will have to keep at it and actually finish projects rather than silently dropping them halfway through.

Any hey, maybe I’ll learn something new along the way. Maybe you’ll learn something new as well, if you stick around.

In any case, this will be a new experience for me. I have not been too fond in the past of sharing my thoughts on the internet, and it will be a bit of an experiment to see whether it’s something I can feel comfortable doing with enough practice.

However, I still will be keeping my cards close to my chest when it comes to the more personal aspects of my life, at least for a while. And I certainly won’t be revealing any identifiable information if I can manage. Some things, like the country I live in, might get a bit tedious to dance around after a while, so I may clue you in on that eventually, but not much more. I like and value my privacy, and I’d ideally like to keep my online and offline identities separate.

Still, it is inevitable that the two will cross past each other at some point, such as if someone I know IRL (In Real Life) finds my blog.

If this is you, welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay around here. If you stay long enough, I might end up telling you something that I’d never tell you otherwise.

You are welcome as long as you respect my wish for privacy – and you’re not being an arse. Though if I know you IRL, the chances of that are pretty slim.

Anyway, I think that’s largely it for this introductory post. Not a lot to talk about just yet, I have a couple of posts written and ready but I’m not sure if I want to post all of them. I’m pretty happy with at least one as-is, but the rest I’m not so sure about. In some way or another, they just don’t feel up to snuff, and I’d like to keep the posts on here of a higher quality.

However, I might just post them anyway, even if I don’t feel like they’re great, because how else am I supposed to learn how to write good posts that not only interest me, but others as well? If I don’t post them, I’ll have no idea if it’s something that might work, just because my perfectionist self got in the way.

So for the first several posts, I’ll probably be playing around with topics and writing styles, to see what works best for me. Because ultimately, I am my own audience. That’s how I wish to write my posts, and it may take a bit to get the style down.

I reckon I’ll get there though. In the meantime, you can come along for the ride. Y’know, if you’re even here yet.

I could probably get comments up and running for the very first post, but I think I’ll leave them off for now while I’m just starting out. After all, right now there’s not a lot to comment on.

But, I might wish to talk about the stuff I post here depending on the topic, even if comments aren’t currently active. For that, I have set up an email address for anyone who reads the blog to contact me on.

So if you have anything you find on this blog or in this post you wish to discuss with me, you can talk to me at:

nacho.blog@mrnachowagon.com

I’ll probably reply eventually.
